Hello~

As you all know, I'm still a beginner at photography, but i figured if i found any useful stuff, i could share it, especially with other beginners :D i suspect that most experienced photographers already know how to do this... but either way, if your reading this, i hope you've learnt something useful!

BTW: I'm using a CANON EOS 1000D, so I'm not really sure if it'll work with other models. So do give feedback if you've tried this method!

As i usually focus on Macro photography, I originally wanted to get a macro lens (since i only have the standard one). But then i discovered a method which is absolutely free and allows you to take extremely close up photos that are beyond your lenses focusing/zooming power!

Just remove your lens, invert it, and hold it to your camera (since it can't screw on). So it's basically the same thing, except your lens are, in a way, "upside down".

The problem with using this, is that you usually don't get enough light in your photos or the shutter speed is too long (the tripod minimally helps as you are still holding the lens to the camera manually).

This probably can be solved by opening your aperture to the max, increasing your shutter speed as much as you can before it starts affecting your photograph, causing it to be blurry and cranking up your ISO to as much as your willing to risk

If you have any questions whatsoever, I'd be  happy to answer them if you drop me a reply on this journal entry or send me a note :D

So good luck with your photography!

They make lens mount adaptors for lens reversal. I’m sure you could find one on eBay for your camera.
